The Right to Erasure

Under various privacy frameworks (including GDPR), individuals have the "right to be forgotten." However, in the context of educational software, this right is often superseded by the school's legal obligation to retain academic and financial records for statutory periods.

For Parents and Students

If you wish to delete your Viddarpan account, you must route this request through your school's administration. Because the school is the Data Controller, Viddarpan (the Data Processor) cannot unilaterally delete your educational records.

If you only wish to delete the Viddarpan mobile app from your device, this removes local app data but does not delete your school records from the Viddarpan servers.

For Schools

Viddarpan provides administrators with the tools to completely delete student profiles, parent accounts, and associated records. When an administrator initiates a deletion:

  1. Immediate Soft Delete: The record is immediately hidden from all user interfaces.
  2. Hard Delete (30 Days): The data remains in encrypted backups for 30 days to protect against accidental deletion. After 30 days, the data is permanently purged and cannot be recovered.

Contract Termination

If a school terminates its contract with Viddarpan, we provide a 30-day grace period for the school to export its data. After 30 days, all data associated with the school is permanently and securely erased from our active databases and backup systems.

For step-by-step instructions on requesting account deletion, please see our Account Deletion Documentation.
