How We Achieve Reliability
- Redundant Infrastructure: We operate across multiple cloud availability zones. If one data center experiences an issue, traffic is automatically routed to healthy zones without service interruption.
- Zero-Downtime Deployments: We utilize rolling updates and blue/green deployments, meaning we can release new features and security patches without taking the system offline.
- Proactive Monitoring: Our engineering team monitors thousands of metrics per second. We are automatically alerted to potential issues (e.g., high database latency or increased error rates) often before they affect users.
Scheduled Maintenance
While we strive for zero-downtime updates, significant database migrations or major infrastructure upgrades occasionally require planned maintenance windows.
- Notification: We notify school administrators at least 7 days in advance of any planned maintenance.
- Timing: Maintenance is always scheduled during off-peak hours (typically weekends between 2 AM and 4 AM local time) to minimize disruption to school operations.
